How to help people in a tragedy

Last night we had a night of prayer at Celebration Church for Haiti, and we were watching live healing place church in Baton Rouge, they had Rick Warren come through via skype and he is was discussing the tradegy in Haiti and gave us some points on how to help people in tragedy, not only people who are involved in this type of event but also people who have lost their job or have went through divorce etc.. here are the points he made. Here is how we overcome tribulations on our life!


Steps to Rebuilding
1. Release grief
2. Resist bitterness
3. Re-evaluate your life
4. Recieve help from others
5. Rely on the lord
6. Refuse to be discouraged
7. Reach out to others


one of the things that really stands out to me, of course rely on the lord, but reaching out to others helps you heal! You may have your own loss or tragedy but don't dwell on that, reach out to others who need more help than you do!! This is something that has helped me when I have been going through my own loss, is too help people who are going through something even bigger! Please continue to pray for Haiti and if you can donate money or relief items both can be dropped off this week at Celebration Church Midtown or Orange Park, 7 am to 7 pm www.celebration.org/haiti

if you know a group that wants to get together supplies at work or school etc. but does not have the time to get the donations to the church, please let me know and I will come friday and pick them up.
